Classes

 

 

Hatha Yoga-  Represents opposing energies, hot and cold(fire and water, similar to ying-yang), male and female, positive and negative.  Hatha yoga attempts to balance mind and body via physical postures or "asanas", purification practices, controlled breathing and the calming of the mind through relaxation and meditation.  Asanas teach poise, balance and strength, and are practiced to improve the body's physical health and clear the mind in preparation for mediation.



Kundalini Yoga-  The word "Kundalini" can be traced to the Sanskrit word 'kundala' which means 'coiled.'  Kundalini can therefore be used to refer to the latent energy within the human body which is constantly trying to manifest as our insight, power and bliss.



Kripalu Yoga-  An interplay of body, mind and energy.  It is a tool for self empowerment and personal growth.  The practice teaches you to tap into your own inner-knowing rather than being dependent upon guidance from external authorities.  You establish and intimate and nourishing relationship with your body.
